Dr. John Bieter, the Boise State University, will give a seminar on the Basques in the United States in the framework of the Summer University organized Basque Euskal Echea, and Cultural Association Charities.

The seminar, to be issued from 7 to February 10, will discuss the history of the Basques in the United States in the framework of the Basque University Summer Study Program Basque Euskal Echea offered every year during two weeks of February. The program this year will close with a lecture by Professor Bieter also on the history of the Basques in Idaho. This conference is open to all public on Friday 11 February 12 to 13 hours., After the presentations of written work done by students UVV2011.

Dr. John Bieter is a graduate of Saint Thomas University and earned his doctorate at Boston College. Currently serves as Associate Professor Department of History at the university in the U.S. state of Idaho, one of the host state for much of Basque immigration in the United States and is the author of

Lasting Legacy: The Story of Basques in Idaho . He is also Executive Director of the Center for Basque Studies Cenarrusa Boise. He was responsible for USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium), an initiative of the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada) on his trip to the Basque Country, 2009. He was director of the Basque dance group "Oinkari" and currently sings in a choir Basque. His academic interests are currently undergoing university immigration the American West, Basque studies, religion and secondary education.
